Discover the Pipe Organ

Local organist, Heather Cooper, will take students behind the scenes of the pipe organ, giving them a special glimpse into one of the most unique instruments. Students will learn how a pipe organ functions, its unique construction, and hear the full and enormous range of the instrument.

Soloist Spotlight

Heather Cooper holds degrees in Piano Performance and Choral Music Education from the University of South Carolina Honors College. She earned her Masters in Music Education from Capital University, with an emphasis in the Kodaly philosophy. She has served as rehearsal accompanist for the Canton Symphony Chorus and organist at United Methodist Church of Kent. Currently, she teaches choir and general music at Canton Country Day School (PK-8). She directs Kantorei and Concert Choir in the Summit Choral Society children’s choir program. Heather is married to Britt Cooper, choral director at Walsh University. They are the proud parents of one year old Megan.
