Whether you are one of the thousands of student performers who have graced the Umstattd stage or one of hundreds of thousands who have been seated in the audience for a school play, band concert, chorus showcase, or Canton Symphony Orchestra performance, one thing is certain…Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, the Canton City Schools, and the Canton Symphony Orchestra have had a significant impact on us all.

After our capital campaign renovations were completed in 2013, our hall is more accessible than ever before with rows of beautiful brand-new seats. Many donors invested in our renovations by making a meaningful gift through our Take Your Seat program, creating their legacy in our hall and/or dedicating engraved seats to their loved ones.

There are still seats available for you to do the same.

How does it work?

With your gift, we will engrave a donor recognition plaque in the chair armrest with your name or the name of a friend or loved one whom you would like to memorialize. Plaques can also be a unique way to recognize a group, class, or commemorate a special achievement or significant event.

Endowing a chair is an opportunity to make a major contribution to the Symphony in perpetuity. Named Canton Symphony Chairs are listed in the program book within the orchestra roster for each performance.
