Audition appointments can be made by emailing Andy Junttonen- ajunttonen@cantonsymphony.org. Please provide your name, phone number, email address, and instrument. You will receive an email confirmation of your audition time.
Homestays during auditions are available on a first come first serve basis. Finalists will be reimbursed for mileage at the rates below (W4 will be provided).
Excerpts will be provided on the stand at the audition. Finalists might be asked to sight-read. Those who are not offered employment with the CSO may be considered for the substitution list.
The 2025-26 per-service rate for the Section Cello position was $126.96, plus 5.995% of scale ($126.96) pension contributions (AFM-EPF). Per service rate for the first daily Ensemble service (up to 1 hour period) was $101.57. 2026-27 per-service rates will be updated once an agreement has been made with Local 111. Some services require day-time availability.

Group 1 roundtrip rate is $2.80 (20-34 miles one way)
Group 2 roundtrip rate is $8.96 (35-49 miles one way)
Group 3 roundtrip rate is $12.88 (50-64 miles one way)
Group 4 roundtrip rate is $18.76 (65-89 miles one way)
Group 5 roundtrip rate is $25.20 (90+ miles one way)
Home stays available when possible.

We will make reasonable efforts to provide overnight lodging at local residences for out of town musicians in addition to mileage reimbursement as outlined in the Master Agreement.
