Explore the animal kingdom through Camille Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals!
The Canton Symphony Orchestra and Canton Ballet will co-present Saint-Saëns’ Carnival of the Animals. With original choreography from Canton Ballet and the timeless music by Saint-Saëns performed by the Canton Symphony, students will learn about the different instrument families of the orchestra through 14 whimsical movements that humorously pair individual instruments with lively animal characters. Each movement features a new animal that will be will be brought to life by real-life ballet dancers – from the graceful swan to the energetic kangaroos and lumbering elephants, students will be captivated as their favorites leap across the stage. Filled with humor, imagination, and storytelling through music and dance, this classic story is perfect for audiences of all ages. This concert and its accompanying educator guide will allow students to dive into their first exploration of the instruments of the orchestra, creative movement, and artistic storytelling.

If you are applying for this grant to receive free busing for the Kinder Concert, applications must be received 8 weeks before the performance. The deadline would be Wednesday, February 24, 2027.
