DESCRIPTION

Conducted by CSO Director of Choruses, Douglas Beery.

The Canton Symphony Orchestra (CSO) Chorus will present “Brilliance – a Resplendent Journey in Song” which includes several selections from Mozart’s brilliant composition of the Requiem that will soon be performed with the Canton Symphony Orchestra. In addition, the works “True Light,” “Stars,” and “Freedom Come” will be heard.

This concert is part of the Cathedral Concert Series which brings local, national, and international artists into the beautiful St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran sanctuary. The excellent acoustics, as well as the Schantz organ and Steinway piano, enhance the artists’ offerings and make a culturally rich series possible for the wider community.

ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

The CSO Chorus

Permanently founded in 1983, the CSO Chorus is an auditioned choral ensemble composed of about 100 volunteer vocalists from the greater Stark County area. Chorus members come from all walks of life and have a wide array of choral experience levels. They are united in their love for music and strive for remarkable music experience for not only the audience, but also themselves. The CSO Chorus appears several times throughout the season with the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and has begun pursuing some chorus-only concerts. Soon they will be forming smaller groups that can perform in an even wider array of venues.
