The core of the generous community support provided to the Canton Symphony Orchestra is through our Annual Fund called Performance Partners and Business Partners.
It’s a balancing act. Balance between strings, winds, brass and percussion;
balance in classical, pops, jazz, chamber, etc. programming, AND balancing the
books. We’re more than you expect, and we need you to help us maintain our
balance by becoming a Performance Partner or Business Partner.
The Canton Symphony is a tremendous asset to our community and indeed to Northeast Ohio. In addition to your attendance, it is worthy of your support, not just because it is an excellent musical ensemble, but because we also:
- Perform for as many as 24,000 children from pre-school to secondary schools in educational concerts in Stark County each year.
- Regularly perform for children in Wayne and Medina Counties too.
- Collaborate with other arts groups, businesses and educational institutions to provide friendly and accessible musical education and experience.
- Provide services for the Canton City Schools’ 21st Century Learning Programs.
- Maintain the Canton Symphony Steel Band Program, music lessons for students of all ages also honing valuable community and responsibility skills in addition to teaching listening, organization, and communication skills.
- Maintain the Canton Youth Symphony which gives 50 young musicians the opportunity to participate in an advanced orchestral situation, and the Canton Symphony Chorus, which gives adults the opportunity to receive professional choral training and the opportunity to perform with a professional orchestra.
- Send small ensembles to Kindergarten through fourth grade classrooms in the Canton City Schools and many other schools throughout the county.
Ticket sales support only 1/3 of the cost of providing these services to our community.
