The Zimmermann Symphony Center features a branded entrance on the southern and western approaches to the McKinley High School campus. The 22,000 sq ft addition to Umstattd Performing Arts Hall at McKinley Senior High School houses the Canton Symphony Orchestra’s administrative offices, music library, education program area, and multi-purpose reception hall.

The development of the center has been a collaborative effort between the Canton City School District, Canton Symphony Orchestra and the greater Stark County community.  Zimmermann Symphony Center is named in honor of Gerhardt Zimmermann, the orchestra’s Music Director since 1980.

 


DONATE NOW TO THE CAPITAL CAMPAIGN!

In summer of 2012, phase one of the scheduled improvements included renovations to Umstattd Performing Arts Hall. Upgrades included new seats, lighting, carpet and renovation of the lobby and restrooms. A special hearing loop system was added to assist audience members who wear hearing aids.

In July 2013, phase two began with the construction of the addition to Umstattd Performing Arts Hall which houses the Canton Symphony Orchestra administrative offices, education resource department, music library and more!  The administrative offices opened for business at the Zimmermann Symphony Center June 9, 2014!
