The Canton Symphony Orchestra announces the following vacancy beginning in the 2017-2018 season

PIANO

 (approx. 15 services per season)

along with possible unconducted

Ensemble services (Lecture/Demo, etc.)

 

Auditions will be held Tuesday, September 19, 2017 from 10:30am – 12:00pm at Umstattd Performing Arts Hall, located in McKinley High School, 2323 17th St. NW, Canton, OH.  Preliminary auditions will be held 10:30am – 11:30pm, with the final round beginning immediately after.

Per service rate for the Piano position is $103.99, plus 5% pension contributions (AFM-EPF).  The per service rate for the first daily Ensemble service (up to 1 hour period) is $85.00 for the 2016-2017 season.   Some services require daytime availability.

Audition repertoire for the positions includes a solo of your choice and the following excerpts:

Copland                              Appalachian Spring (original version 1944)

Shostakovich                      Symphony No. 1, Op. 10

Stravinsky                          Petrouchka (revised 1947) (entire part should be prepared)

Please bring your own music to the auditions - no excerpts will be available at the auditions.

Finalists might be asked to sight-read.
