Lauren Roth
Concertmaster

Lauren Roth is the newly appointed concertmaster of the Canton Symphony
and a graduate student of William Preucil at the Cleveland Institute of Music.
A native of Seattle, she received a Bachelor of Music degree in violin
performance and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Italian studies from the University
of Washington. She was a student of Professor Ron Patterson. While there,
Ms. Roth won the University’s concerto competition and soloed with the UW
Symphony and Bremerton Symphony. She also served as the concertmaster of
the UW Symphony, Seattle Philharmonic Orchestra, Marrowstone Festival Orchestra,
Marrowstone Chamber Orchestra, Philharmonia Northwest, Bellevue Opera Orchestra and
the Thalia Symphony. In July 2011, Ms. Roth was the concertmaster of the 5thAvenue Theater’s premiere of Disney’s “Aladdin: The New Stage Musical.”
An active teacher and chamber musician, Ms. Roth was an adjunct faculty member at Holy Names Academy in Seattle from 2006-2010. She has served on the faculty of Icicle Creek Music Center and Music, Meadows and Mountains, two summer festivals in the northwest. She is a frequent performer at the San Juan Island Chamber Music series in Washington and has collaborated and performed with artists such as Paula Robison, Doug Davis, Ron Patterson, Martin Kuuskmann and Ani Kavafian.
